Amazon fulfilment is one of the most important marketplaces for an entrepreneur to be at. The sheer size and reach of the platform can not be denied or ignored. At Freightways we offer fulfilment through Amazon. All our staff is trained to create Advance Shipping Notifications (ASN) and we all know Amazon’s terms and conditions that need to be adhered to.
Fulfilment through Amazon can be done three ways:
– Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA)
– Fulfilment by Merchant (FBM)
– Amazon Vendor Central
FBA
With Fulfilment By Amazon your product is stored in an Amazon warehouse. Besides storage they will take care of picking, packing, shipping and customer service. So you will not only be using Amazon’s platform but also their experience, expertise and services. With FBA your products are eligible for Prime delivery for instance. On top of that they also take care of returns.
FBM
With Fulfilment By Merchant you only use Amazon’s digital platform. Storage and handling is still done by the seller. This way you have more control over your inventory and fulfilment processes, but you are missing out on Amazon’s expertise in this respect. The upside is that you remain hands-on and in direct contact with your customers yourself. Through FBM you can ship via Prime as well though only if you meet the conditions of Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP)
Amazon Vendor Central
Opposed to Amazon Seller Central, which can be FBA or FBM, there is Amazon Vendor Central. Through Amazon Vendor Central Amazon actually buys the products from you and then re-sells them through their own platform. The big benefit here is that your product is sold and you don’t need to worry about it anymore. There is no risk of your product not selling and gathering dust in an Amazon warehouse which is, of course, not free.
Becoming part of Amazon Vendor Central is only possible through invitation by Amazon. Usually a vendor starts off with Amazon Seller Central, be that FBA or FBM, and after a period of steady sales and gaining Amazon’s trust they will be invited to become part of the Amazon Vendor Central.
How it works
With Freightways as your logistic partner you will be unburdened when it comes to your Amazon shipments. You only need to supply us with the 8-figure PO’s Amazon provides and access to your Amazon platform and we will take care of the rest.
Step by step this process involves:
– Match your Amazon PO with the right order
– Add our warehouse as “ship from” address
– Confirm label and order type
– Provide packing method for each SKU (mixed or single)
– Check if SKU and carton details are correct (number of cartons, units per carton, ASIN, SKU, SKU description)
– Add tracking data to order
– Add shipping date and estimated time of delivery
– Select courier for delivery
– Print labels and attach
